Sizing:
This butter dish will comfortably hold 1/2 cup of butter. It may hold up to 1 cup, but will be a tight fit. 1 cup is not guaranteed as each dish is crafted individuals and size does vary.

    This butter dish is lovingly created on the wheel and the details are built on by hand. The plate is made with a raised lip to keep your pad of butter in place and protect against the moving lid.

Whaley cute

While it was bigger than I expected, I couldn’t be happier! This little guy holds a stick of butter, probably could put two in if I stacked them, and is super cute to have on the counter.

So glad this cutie found its way into your amazing home. The great Canadian butter sizing is often surprising to our American friends. Since we are a Canadian company we build our butter dishes from the dimensions of what is sold in our stores. Americans often refer to their butter as 'sticks', and Canadians often say 'bricks'. Our butter is sold in a package 4x the size of your sticks. I have no doubt you can fit 2 of yours in this whale belly because we have to cut our bricks in half for this dish.

We don't really leave but...

We don't really leave butter out that often, but then it occured to me - because of the rim on the plate, it can also be used to store a serving of m&m's on the counter. SOLD! I love it, so happy I grabbed one. Thanks for another awesome piece you guys!
